How do I program Wireless Zones   (ID:13696466)

 

This FAQ will answer general questions on programming wireless and 5881-receiver setup for a Vista-20P. It will also give you a link to a Step–by–Step document that covers more detailed information how to program wireless zones.

 

  • Are you using an Alpha Keypad? (6139, 6160, 5137)
  • Is receiver wired to Keypad terminals?
  • Are dipswitches set to address 0, all dips off?
  • Is field *22 programmed for 4, if you want RF Jam feature?
  • Is the correct loop number programmed in *56?

Alpha Keypad

 

·         An alpha keypad is needed to do any zone programming. This panel has an interactive (menu) mode.

 

5881 Setup

 

·         Receiver wires to the keypad terminals.

·         Dip switches are set to address 0 (all off to the right)

 

 

Programming panel to accept wireless

 

·         Enter programming.

o        Installer code (Default 4112) + 8 + 0 + 0

o        You do not need to enable an RF receiver, once you program any zone for a wireless type panel will acknowledge a 5881 receiver.

o        If you want to enable the RF Jam feature, Enter *22 enter 4 if using a 5881 with RF jam detection enabled. (The newest 5881 receivers (PCB marked 5882) have the ability to detect an RF jamming condition. The control panel would report a Check 90 condition if a jamming condition lasts for more than 20 seconds).

 

 

Programming wireless zones

 

·         While still in programming enter *56, and follow the prompts.

o        * Key moves you through the different screens.

o        Wireless zones should start on zone 10 and higher.

o        To exit menu driven programming, when keypad reads “Enter zone” enter 00.
