Product FAQ

Some events report, but not others.   (ID:13805466)
My panel reports some signals to central station, but not others.

This FAQ will explain common issues that can cause a control panel to send some signals to central station but not others.

Note: program locations for fields mentioned will vary from panel to panel. Refer to the appropriate program

Watch out for…

·        Are Entry Exit or Interior zones not reporting? Exit Error may be enabled.

·        Swinger Suppression

·        Split Reporting: be sure split reporting is set as you would like.

·        Program report codes: each report must have report codes in “first digit” to report.

·        Dial delay: Did you wait for 15 seconds after activating the alarm?

·        Programming For YOUR specific panel:

Are Entry Exit or Interior zones not reporting? Exit Error may be enabled.

·         With the Exit Error feature enabled, an entry/exit or interior zone will cause an “exit error alarm” rather than a true alarm. In this case, perimeter zones (ZT03) and fire zones will report

·         These messages may be interpreted to central station as a “trouble” rather than an alarm.

Swinger Suppression

·         Swinger suppression limits the number of alarm signals that can be sent per armed period. If this is set to 3 (for example), the system would limit its reports to 3 alarms.

Split Reporting: be sure split reporting is set as you would like.

·         Split reporting sends some signals to the primary phone number and others to the secondary.

·         If one of these is not correct, some signals may go through while others do not.

Program report codes: each report must have report codes in “first digit” to report.

·         The system must have a report code programmed to enable each report.

·         If you are using a low speed format, the digits that you have programmed will literally be the code that is reported.

·         If you are Using Contact ID format, the report is enabled by a report code with a first digit that is not 00

·         In zone programming, report codes are entered in a hexadecimal format. In other words, each “digit” is 2 key-strokes. You may see a report code screen such as: 01 00 10. In this case, 01 is your first digit (1). 00 is the second digit (0); and 10 is the combination (1 for first, 0 for second)

·         In standard program fields (outside the menu mode), you may key in report codes by a direct entry. For example if you want to program a report code of 52, simply enter a 52 into that program location. Refer the appropriate program form for more information.

Dial delay: Did you wait for 15 seconds after activating the alarm?

·         There is an option in programming to delay the dialer for up to 15 seconds for burglary alarms. If the system is disarmed before this period expires, the system will not report at all.

·         Fire alarms will not be delayed.

Programming For YOUR specific panel:

Vista-10 family:

*47 = split reporting

*48 = dial delay enable

*65 = second entry enables exit error (0 in the second entry disables exit error logic)

*92 = Reports per armed period (swinger suppression)

Vista-15/20 family:

*49 = split reporting

*50 = dial delay enable

*59 = exit error

*93 = Reports per armed period (swinger suppression)

Vista-40/50/100/128/250 family:

*84 = Swinger suppression (partition specific)

*88 = dial delay enable (partition specific)

1*20 = Enables exit error logic

1*34 = split reporting
