What does EA mean?   (ID:13872466)
The following will explain Exit Error Alarm.

Watch out for…

·        Are Entry Exit or Interior zones not reporting? Exit Error may be enabled.

·        Does your keypad show EA or EXIT ALARM?

·        How does Exit Error Logic work?

·        How Can I enable/disable Exit Error Logic?

Are Entry Exit or Interior zones not reporting? Exit Error may be enabled.

·         With the Exit Error feature enabled, an entry/exit or interior zone will cause an “exit error alarm” rather than a true alarm. In this case, perimeter zones (ZT03) and fire zones will report normally.

·         These messages may be interpreted to central station as a “trouble” rather than an alarm.

Does your keypad show EA or EXIT ALARM?

·         With the Exit Error feature enabled, an entry/exit or interior zone will cause an “exit error alarm” rather than a true alarm. In this case, perimeter zones (ZT03) and fire zones will report normally.

·        These messages may be interpreted to central station as a “trouble” rather than an alarm.

How does Exit Error Logic work?

·         Exit Alarm and zone indication will appear if an alarm condition occurs two minutes after the end of an exit delay or if an exit or interior zone contained a fault during closing at the time the exit delay ended, but the system was NOT disarmed during the entry delay time.

·         The sounder & keypad sound continuously until the system is disarmed (or timeout occurs).

·         This condition will also occur if an alarm on an entry/exit or interior zone occurs within 2 minutes of arming.

·         An exit alarm message (E374 if CID and an 811 is sent to the pager) is sent to the central station.
