The following will explain why a keyfob may not work on your system:
Watch out for: · Verify that the RF receiver is enabled and working. · Link the key-fob to a USER CODE: 15P and 20P · After you link a key-fob to a USER CODE, it follows the attributes of that code. · Verify that the keyfob is transmitting · Check the batteries in the keyfob Verify the zone programmingEach button of the keyfob must be programmed as a separate zone number. The zones must be input type 5 (Button RF) The zone types will typically be programmed as: 20(stay) 21(away) 22(disarm) 6/7/8/9(panic functions) Verify that the zones are assigned to the correct partition. Verify that the RF receiver is enabled and working.
The Vista-15P and 20P series controls enable the receiver automatically when a wireless zone is enabled. To troubleshoot the receiver, enable supervision of it to see if a trouble condition occurs; or see if other wireless devices work. Link the key-fob to a USER CODE: 15P and 20PAfter the keyfob zones have been programmed into the system, you must assign it to a user code in order for it to perform arm/disarm functions. If this has not been done, a panic function or relay activation will still work. You must program the user code before you can assign a code to it. Assign a remote to a user code by keying: Master Code + 8 + [user position] + # + 4 + [the 2-digit zone number] You will get a single beep to verify the entry was accepted. The user position will be a 2-digit entry of 02, 04, 05, etc… The 2-digit zone number may be any zone of the fob that is used for arming or disarming. For example, if the master code is 1234 and wants to assign user 02 to a keyfob with zones 10-13, Key the following: 1234 802 #4 10 After you link a key-fob to a USER CODE, it follows the attributes of that code. The keyfob will follow all attributes of its linked code regarding: Ø Authority level Ø Partition assignment Ø Limitation of access by time Verify that the keyfob is transmittingWhen you press and hold a button on the keyfob, the receive LED on the receiver should flicker to receive a signal. Check the batteries in the keyfobThe keyfobs contain (2) 3-volt lithium batteries. Verify that both are the proper voltage and correctly installed. |
