Microsoft Windows 95 Support Discontinuation As you may know, Microsoft discontinued support of Windows 95 effective November 30, 2001. Over the past year, Ademco continued to support Windows 95. Effective December 31, 2002, Ademco will make support of Windows 95, limited because Microsoft no longer provides support to us or our vendors. If you currently use Windows 95, you have the following options: 1. Continue using Windows 95. If you require technical support and are using Windows 95, our tech line will only support on a limited basis after December 31, 2002. 2. Upgrade your Microsoft operating system (OS). - Windows XP* - Windows 2000* - Windows ME - Windows 98 Second Edition - Windows 98 - Windows NT (service pack 4 or higher) If you choose to upgrade your OS, you can continue to use your existing Compass program. We advise to download the latest Compass REV. * Please be advised, the following change must be made in WindowsXP/2000:â 1. Right click on My Computer 2. Click on Properties 3. Click on Hardware 4. Click on Device Manager 5. Click on the "+" next to Ports (COM & LPT) that will be used for the Compass Modem 6. Right Click on your Com Port 7. Click on Properties 8. Click on Port Settings 9. Click on Advanced 10. Set Receive buffer to low 11. Set Transmit buffer to low 12. OK out of all that 13. Reboot the computer |
