Welcome to the Compass Interactive Download Document!

This document includes all the files and instructions necessary to download the Compass Software and necessary patches.

 

We are currently at release: 1.5.8.0.

Current Patch is at: 1.5.8.24

Already have 1.5.8.0.? I don’t know!

Here’s just the patch to 1.5.8.24

Do you need the full install or a patch? Here’s how you check…

 

    1. Open Compass
    2. From the drop-down menu select “Help”…
    3. Then select “About” from the drop down menu…
    4. Note the “Database Version”:
      • If your database version is 1.5.8.24 then you don’t need to do anything – you are up to date!
      • If the first three digits are “1.5.8.” but the last digits are less than “24”, then you only need the Patch.
      • If the first three numbers are less than “1.5.8” then you need the Full Install and the Patch

 

 

Full Install

Welcome to the Full Install chapter. Here you will be able to get the latest full installation of Compass.

Note: After you download this full install, you still need to install the Patch!

 

 

Helpful notes before you download the full install

  • There is a CD version of this full install available at Customer Service. To order Compass on CD-ROM (part # CMP1580ADCD), contact our customer service department at 1-800-573-0154 or complete and return this form.

Choose your preferred method of Download

  • If you have a 56K or faster internet connection then we recommend one large file.
  • If you have problems with this large file, we recommend trying the eighteen individual files.

 

 

One large file:

 

1.       Download (click on) the file below to a temporary directory on your computer.

2.   After downloading, run the file named  "cmp1580.exe" then follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.

3.   To start Compass after a first-time installation, use the Operator Code "MASTER"  and Password "MASTER".

4.   Don’t forget to run the patch as well!

Eighteen Small Files:

1.       Download each file below to a temporary directory on your computer.

2.       IMPORTANT NOTES:

a.      If your browser (e.g. some version of Netscape Communicator) is not capable of retaining the exact file name when saving to disk, be sure to name each file exactly as shown above before saving it! The installation process will not operate unless the files are named as they appear above (case does not matter).

b.      When saving files, use zero's in file names -- not the letter O)

3.       After downloading all the files, run the file named SETUP.EXE then follow the instructions as they appear on the screen.

4.       Alternatively, you may save each file to a floppy disk then use them to install the program on multiple computers in your office (requires 3-1/2' high density disks).

5.   To start Compass after a first-time installation, use the Operator Code "MASTER"  and Password "MASTER".

6.   Don’t forget to run the patch as well!

(Each file is about 1.4M in size and will fit to 3½ Floppy)

  • This upgrade must ONLY be applied to 1.5.8.0 or later. If you do not have 1.5.8.0. you MUST perform a full download first.
