Error caused by protection fault:

Protection fault is any fault within windows, where the defined instruction set can not be achieved.

If this error occurs within Compass, it usually is associated with DLL issues. Try copying all DLL & VBX files from C:\compass\dll, into the operating systems SYSTEM folder, followed by a reboot. If any error occurs during the copying process, reboot operating system, and try again. If the copy continuously fails, there is some other programs instruction set causing a conflict.

If this error occurs during printing, use the DOC "482 Print error", if this does not correct the issue, the printer probably is not compatible with compass. For explanation of compatablity, call our TECH DEPT. 800.645.7492 or email.
