Yes, Proprietary panels may be turned off. But why?

Compass Windows Downloader has a built in feature, which allows the Ademco Group, to support products that are proprietary in nature. Personality disks are used, to "turn on" panels of the proprietary nature. These Personality Disks are available through your particular dealer program.
During upgrades it may become necessary, to re-run your personality disk. Ademco Tech Support advises to have your personality disk available, whenever any type of upgrade is performed on your Compass Windows Downloader.
NOTE: In most cases, incremental upgrades will not turn off Proprietary Panels.
